Leaves: Leathery, heart-shaped with margins tightly recurved, upper surface shiny with deeply indented veins, lower surface densely hairy.
Flowers: Small, dense, creamy hairy flowers with prominent white hairy floral leaves.
Flowering Time: Sporadic but predominantly in late winter/early spring.
Fruit: a small capsule with 3 valves.
Habitat/distribution:Limited, at risk of extinction due to changing land use.
Where to See:Only known along east coast rivers.
Other notes: Long flowering period. Propagate from firm young tips, slow to produce roots.
