Size: 5-8 m H
Leaves: are actually tiny triangular teeth surrounding the joints in the branchlets, which themselves could be mistaken for leaves. The branchlets are narrow, linear, circular in cross section, furrowed and up to 20 cm long
Flowers: Female flowers red, in clusters on short side shoots. Male flowers are red/brown in spikes at ends of branchlets.
Flowering Time: January to April.
Fruit: Cylindrical cones to 6 cm long and 2.5 cm in diameter, on short side branches.
Habitat/distribution: Restricted to a few areas south of Hobart in dry Eucalyptus forest.
Where to See: Pelverata Falls, Snug Tiers.
Other notes: Not widely cultivated but should be easily propagated from seed.
