Size: 15–60cm H, 30-60cm W
Leaves: Crowded, erect or closely pressed to the stem, 3-6mm long. Sessile (stalkless) or short stalked. Narrowly linear with blunt and callous tip. Petiole and/orthe base of blade, hairy.
Flowers: White, tubular 4-5mm long, bearded on the inside. Appear singly in the leaf axils (where leaf meets stem) or as small clumps at end of short branchlets.
Flowering Time: Spring
Fruit: Fleshy fruit, stone separates into 5 or fewer nutlets (Curtis 1963)
Habitat/distribution:Endemic to Tasmania. Rare. Montane habitats of Central Plateau, and north-east highlands, in sub-alpine/dry open sclerophyll woodlands.
Where to See:Mt Dromedary, Marlborough, Derwent Bridge, Interlaken, Lake Crescent (eastern shore), Arthurs Lake, Castle Carey, Storeys Creek etc.
Other notes:A small prostrate,woody shrub with procumbent or semi erect branches. Sensitive to infection from root rot and also to domestic grazing.
