Hobart Group Excursion - Walk at Mt Field

  • Lake Fenton Tasmania (map)

Walk in Mt Field National Park to view the fagus which should be at least partly turned by Anzac Day, a couple of shorter walks to see fagus and also some of the best of the subalpine flora and a bit of geology.

We will start at Lake Fenton and walk around the side of the lake through the fagus, on a ‘done-up’ section of the track. We will then move on to Lake Dobson to do the lake circuit and back via the Urquhart Track through some delightful forest.

Time permitting we will walk a short section of the old pack track below Lake Fenton, in a wild valley with fagus and really ancient snowgums. So nothing too hard.

Meet at Lake Fenton Carpark at 10.30am.
Please contact Keith Corbett on 0419 593 059 or keith.corbett@bigpond.com if you’d like to come.

We need to have an idea of who is coming just in case we need to change anything and also if you are a few minutes late arriving we do not want to leave anyone behind.
