Leaves: Thick and leathery. Oblique, variable in size, 2-5 cm long and 5-20 mm broad.
Flowers: Cream, in spherical heads which are grouped in racemes.
Flowering Time: Late autumn, winter and early spring.
Fruit: Dark brown, to 5 cm long, twisted when mature.
Habitat/distribution: Widespread in well-drained woodlands and heaths mainly in near-coastal areas of the north and east.
Other notes: Requires a well-drained site with some sun. Propagate from seed or cuttings
