Botanical Name: Ozothamnus buchananii
Common Name: Dusty everlastingbush

Size: 1.5m H, 1.5m W
Leaves: Stiff grey-blue (glaucous). Crowded, in spiralling ranks. Young stems and leaves hoary through indumentum (hairs) and a colourless, exudate. Not aromatic
Flowers: Small white tubular florets (6 -7) clustered in panicles forming white flowerheads at the ends of branches.
Flowering Time: Dec - Feb

Achene papillose

Habitat/distribution: Endemic to Tasmania. Montane open forests in Northeastern highlands at around 1000m altitude, on dolerite.
Where to See: Tower Hill south of Mathinna; Snow Hill near summit, at edges of dolerite plates (967m); St Paul’s Dome above dolerite cliffs (1027m)
Other notes: Columnar shrub, rarely compact with erect branches and white flowers. Sweet smell. Glaucous leaves very hard, brittle. First few sightings in 1990s, with more systematic sightings recorded from 2011.  Named to honour Alex Buchanan, former curator of Tasmanian Herbarium.
