Size: 4-10m H, 3-5m W.
Leaves: Tough, leathery, elliptical, opposite, 3-8cm, dark green upper and lighter green lower surface. Prominent central vein.
Flowers
: Small inconspicuous greenish-white flowers with 4 petals
Flowering Time: Spring
Fruit: A white or pink ovoid drupe about 1cm diameter

Habitat/distribution: Widespread to 1000m on moist rocky hillsides and riverbanks.
Where to See: Widespread except in far south west.
Other notes: Hardy and frost tolerant, requires part shade. Propagate from seed or cuttings in soil from collection site. Fruit is colourful but inedible.
