Size: 0.5m H, 3 m W
Leaves: Are actually tiny triangular teeth surrounding the joints in the branchlets, which themselves could be mistaken for leaves. The branchlets are narrow, linear, circular in cross section, furrowed and 8-17 cm long
Flowers:
Female flowers red, in clusters on short side shoots. Male flowers red/brown in spikes at ends of branchlets. Male and female flowers often on separate plants.
Flowering Time: April to October.
Fruit: Small cylindrical cones to 3.5 cm long.

Habitat/distribution: Restricted to Cape Pillar area and Tasman Island on cliff tops and heathlands.

Other notes: Hardy. Resistant to frost and drought. Propagate from seed.
